Happy Friday!
The work week has come to a close again . This summer is flying by!
As you may have noticed from my blog post “Prepping for Vacation”, I love to not only travel but get prepared ahead of time by having a tentative packing list, maps on the ready, etc.
I’m gearing up for a road trip with my brother in a couple of weeks. A very quick road trip. As in, we are leaving Friday afternoon and driving back Sunday morning, but we are young and love the beach, so why not?
Since the road trip is going to be very short and it’s weeks away, people may think I’m crazy for getting things ready ahead of time. I think I just love traveling so much that whenever a trip is coming up, be it weeks or months away, I will get so excited that I can’t help but start prepping in advance. {Please tell me I’m not the only one…}
One very big upside that almost immediately came to mind was that since the trip will be super short, there’s not much that needs to be packed. Of course the essentials, but on a much smaller scale.
Usually, when I’m packing for a week, I’ll pack a few pairs of shorts and coordinating shirts. For the road trip, I’ll be wearing a pair of shorts on the drive and will pack one other pair with a couple of shirts.
Here’s a tentative packing list I came up with for our road trip to the beach:
- beach towels/ beach bag
- sunglasses/ sunscreen
- sandals/ swim suit/ cover up
- bottled water/ snacks (possibly a cooler)
- cell phone/ charger/ keys/ wallet
- toiletries (vitamins, travel size shampoo, body wash, washcloth, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, etc.)
- a summer book to read
- pajamas, a couple of changes of clothes
This list covers the basics, of course each list may look different to suit one’s needs.
Is there anything that you always bring on a road trip or have ideas to make the road trip more fun? Let me know!
Hope you have a great weekend!
