Life’s Seasons

Happy Thursday!

I’m so glad it’s almost the weekend again!

I love summer, but it seems like this year has been flying by way too fast!

Before we know it, the year will be ending again. We will be going through summer, fall, and the beginning of winter before the year ends. Sounds like a long time from now, but I can’t believe it’s already June!

One of the most common conversation topics is the weather. The weather can change in the blink of an eye.

Since the beginning of summer is right around the corner, many people are gearing up for their summer vacations. It seems many people prefer the summer season. Who can blame them? Crowded beaches, sand everywhere, sunshine, lemonade…what’s not to love?

There are also some that prefer spring, fall, or even winter. We each have our preferences.  We don’t get to choose the day that summer or winter start.

Just like we don’t get to choose when trials come our way.

Eccl. 3: 1-8

 “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.”

There is a time and purpose for everything that may come our way. We don’t get to decide when we would like something special to happen in our lives.

If we did get to decide, our lives would be very different. Since our timing is not in accordance with God’s timing, our lives would most likely not be how we hoped and dreamed. It doesn’t work to take matters into our own hands.

There is a purpose for each season. Even if we don’t see what the point is for winter or something tragic happening in our lives, God does have a purpose.

It can be hard to trust when we don’t know what is up ahead.

God may be using a certain trial in our lives to help us trust Him more.

The season we may currently be in may not be fun at all, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Trials don’t last forever, thank God!

You may be in a season of pure bliss that you never want to end. Enjoy those moments. Those particular quiet and happy moments may never cross your path again.

(Just want to clarify – no two moments are the exact same so we may never have the same exact quiet happy moment, even though  our lives may be filled with  many happy moments.)

I hope we all have a great summer! Days filled with sunshine are the best!
