Happy Thursday!
I just got back from a very relaxing trip to the Cayman Islands.
I hadn’t realized how much I needed the time to lay back , relax and do absolutely nothing. Getting caught up in work, projects and various other activities can cause our bodies to go into over drive, to the point where we get stressed and might even forget the meaning of the word “relax”.
Relaxing may look different to each person. Someone may be able to relax while working or cleaning.
My relaxing these past few days consisted of swimming in the pool or ocean and laying out on the beach soaking up the sun.
Today, even though it is a workday, I feel refreshed and ready to take on almost anything.
On Thursdays, I don’t usually feel that way. On Thursdays, I’m already wishing for Friday. I constantly wish it was a day or two later in the week, without stopping to enjoy the day it currently is.
It can be so easy to get caught up in future goals and dreams that we forget to live in the now.
Taking a week or just a day to sit back and relax can do wonders. Relaxing helps us feel refreshed and able to go back to work with an “I’ve got this!” mentality.
While on vacation, my mom and I would end each night with a cup of chamomile tea. It was the perfect way to end the day.
What do you do to relax? Read a book, drink tea, watch your favorite TV show, painting, cleaning, etc.
I don’t know about you, but vacations are what truly relaxes me. Laying on the beach while soaking up the sun…it can’t get much better than that.
Vacations are needed so that we can jump back to work feeling energized and refreshed.
Take just a few moments today to relax. You will be so glad you did!
