When my bare feet hit the hot, gritty sand, I can’t help but think of how tiny one grain of sand is and then how many of pieces of sand I walk on as I head to the ocean.
As the water comes into view, I glance at the various shades of blue water. Some waves roar, while others sheepishly fall onto the ground.
If we think about the ocean as a journey in each of our lives, no day will have perfectly calm waves. Waves will toss us to and fro. Waves will pick us up and carry us crashing us against the shore. We may feel like we’re drowning, that no help is in sight, but we have nothing to fear, since God is always right beside us.
And then lastly, I look up to the sky. Imagine the sun is setting, the sun hits the water just so that it glistens for miles. The clouds and sky are pops of pink, purple and orange. Just looking at the sky can leave you in awe.
Ps. 19:1
“The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.”
The ocean is so vast and yet we just get a glimpse of the surface when we are at the beach.
While in this journey called life, God doesn’t show us everything that is going to happen to us. Little by little, day by day, He reveals His plans to us.
We may feel like we are in a fog. Lost and waiting for God to come and rescue us.
He will come. He will rescue us from whatever we may be struggling with. In His perfect time.
Eccl. 3:1
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:”
It can be hard to wait on God.
All He asks us to do is trust.
Prov. 3:5-6
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
