The day started off as any other. As the day progressed, I could tell my mood was slightly shifting and not in a good way. I could tell I was being a little more snappy than usual.
How had my attitude changed from a joyous one to one that rarely comes around?
It wasn’t until half way through the day that I finally found my answer.
I hadn’t prayed the way I should’ve in the morning.
The way my morning goes can dictate how the rest of the day might be, including if I wake up later than I would have liked.
Even though my days shouldn’t be that way. I shouldn’t let something like the time I wake up and other trivial things that follow determine how the rest of my day will be.
But that’s exactly what happened.
I didn’t spend my time with God they way I should have.
Jeremiah 33:3
“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”
I should’ve spent more time talking with God than being caught up in whatever may have grabbed my attention.
I find that my days go smoother when I spend time with God in the morning.
“Prayer should be the key of the morning and the bolt of the evening.” ~ George Herbert
It can be easy to wake up and go about our day forgetting to thank the one who gave it to us, but that shouldn’t be the case.
No matter how busy life gets, we should put God first and meet with Him every morning.
“Prayer does not change God, but it changes him who prays.” ~ Soren Kierkegaard
Very good!
