Don’t Lose Hope

Hope.

Has 2020 caused you to lose hope?

Or maybe your hope is hanging by a thread?

Hope springs eternal:

proverb

“it is human nature always to find fresh cause for optimism.”

It can be easy for us to get our hopes up and yet, they also can be dashed just as easily.

A few weeks ago, while headed to Theodore Roosevelt National Park with family, my one hope was to see wild bison. I didn’t think it was a crazy impossible request…but bison don’t really stick to a person’s schedule.

For almost the whole drive throughout the national park, we had seen countless prairie dogs. While they were tiny and cute, seeing so many of them got to be annoying as my hope for seeing bison was slipping away.

We turned down a different road and stumbled upon some wild horses and yet even more prairie dogs. We drove until there was hardly any road left and finally the bison came into view. Some were huddled together, while some made their own pathway throughout the grassy and somewhat rugged terrain.

As we started the journey back, we were forced to stop our car as the bison stood all across the road in front of us.

The biggest one of the group, which most likely was their leader, slowly walked past us eyeing us up. While that was certainly nerve wracking for a few moments as he made his way to the back of our car, we stared out at the magnificent bison before us.

In the best way possible, we were forced to be in the moment. We were at this exact spot, in this exact moment with no where to go. But, you know what? There’s no where else I would have preferred to have been.

While this may seem like a silly illustration, it reminded to not lose hope.

It was so easy for me the further we drove for my hope to slowly deflate.

It wasn’t until nearing the end of the road that we were blessed with so many bison before us.

Don’t lose hope.

At times, it may feel like God has forgotten you, but trust me He hasn’t. He is working in every moment of every day.

Wherever God has placed you, embrace the moment set before you.

God has you exactly where you are for a reason.

God’s timing is perfect. He’s never too early or too late but right on time.

Amidst the waiting, He wants us to trust Him and not lose hope.

Do you feel your hope slipping away?

Call out to God and ask Him to restore your hope.

Whatever may be thrown at you today, don’t lose hope.

Romans 12:12

“Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;”

Romans 15:13

“Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
