Time.
It passes by so quickly.
We never know how much time we’ll have on earth.
Growing up in a household with only brothers, I became a sports fan. Baseball, basketball, basically which ever sport my brothers liked I tried to have an interest in so we could have something in common besides our parents.
One of my brothers has loved basketball for as long as I can remember. I loved watching him play basketball in high school. In high school, he was number 24.
The same number as Kobe Bryant.
That name won’t mean much if you don’t watch sports, specifically basketball. While, I didn’t watch him play a whole lot, since he was on the rival team of my home state, I did know that he was a basketball legend. Even after he retired, he had a sports academy for kids, wrote sports books for kids. He was a role model to many.
He didn’t know how much time he had on earth. Yesterday, he died in a helicopter crash with his daughter and a few other passengers.
The news is shocking for many. I couldn’t believe it when I first heard it.
I can’t help but thinking, time is precious. At any moment, our time could be up. God can call us home.
So, my question is what are you supposed to be doing but aren’t?
Are you wanting to volunteer more, grow closer to God, write a book, try to be a better testimony, go to college, visit your great aunt, etc.?
God has given us a certain amount time. We don’t know the exact moment that our time is up.
It could be tomorrow or ten years from now.
What has God called you to be doing right now? Are you doing it? Are you procrastinating?
Let’s not waste a moment that God has given us.
James 4:14
“Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.”
Praying today and every day we will listen to God’s calling for us.
