Fear

Fear plagues me. It has plagued me for as long as I can remember. Fear has me bound in invisible, heavy laden chains. Chains that can only move the moment I give my fears to God.

Fear can consume so many aspects of everyday life.

Fear of being single forever.

Fear of not being financially stable.

Fear of not using the gifts God has given.

Fear of not being good enough.

There can be so many things to fear, but if we have Christ as our personal Savior we have nothing to fear.

God is more powerful than any fear that plagues us.

We have nothing to fear and yet we let Satan’s lies creep in. We start to believe them. We become afraid and decide to procrastinate on what God is asking us to do.

“Fear not” is in the Bible 365 times. Did you catch that? 365 times. One for everyday of the year!

Here are a couple of those verses:

Isaiah 41:10

“Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”

Deuteronomy 31:6

“Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”

God did not give us a spirit of fear:

2 Timothy 1:7

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

We cannot let the fear and lies cripple us from accomplishing God’s will for our lives.

God’s plan for each of our lives is perfect – we have nothing to fear!

When the fear becomes overwhelming, take it to the Lord in prayer.

He will not only help cast away our fear, but will give the strength needed to continue serving Him.

Don’t let fear get the best of you!

Trust and rest in God’s promises.

He will not fail, therefore we have nothing to fear!
