Who We Are In Christ

Weak.

Never good enough.

Not pretty enough.

Not skinny enough.

By the world’s standards, we may not be looked at as something special or unique. We may look at someone that is younger than us and more successful and think “what am I doing with my life?”

By the standard of the world, we may not be successful at all, but in the grand scheme of things, that doesn’t matter.

It can be so easy to get caught up in all the shiny things the world supposedly has to offer, but eventually we will begin to compare our lives to others. We may even question if there is a purpose for us to be alive, when everyone else seems to be so much more perfect than us.

Satan knows exactly what to dangle in front of us to fall into his trap. He knows if we begin comparing our lives to others that we will never be satisfied.

Satan is the father of lies. He tricks us into believing we are not loved, not worthy of love, not pretty enough, weak, and that there’s no place for our God-given dream in this world.

While he is a master deceiver, the lies he tries to tear us down with simply are not true.

We can mute the lies with the truth about who we are in Christ.

So, who are we in Christ?

We are wonderfully made  Ps. 139:14

We are chosen by God  Deut. 14:2

We are worth dying for Rom. 5:7-9

We are children of God  I John 3:1

We are loved by God  I John 4:19

We are previous  Isaiah 43:4

We are made in God’s image  Gen. 1:27

We are sinners in need of a Savior. God loves us so much that He sent His Son to die on a cross for our sins. He knew who we would be and what we would do and still loved us enough to sacrifice His Son for us. That kind of love is amazing. It’s almost too hard to comprehend that kind of love.

God loves us. He created each of us with a unique purpose for His honor and glory.

A purpose too unique to let lies take us captive.

When the lies become overwhelming, seek God’s face, as He whispers the truth about who you are in Him.
