It’s Going to Be Okay

Here we are…smack dab in the middle of June. It feels just like yesterday I was shoveling snow and relishing in its beauty. Although, not quite at the same time.

To be completely honest, I have been struggling. Spiritually and mentally.

The past several months have been some of the most challenging filled with some of my lowest moments. At times, scary moments. I don’t say that lightly to alarm you.

I mention this in case you may have also felt this way or currently feel this way.

I had started to feel abandoned by God. I didn’t feel like anything about me was special. My mind started spiraling out of control. I wondered why I was still here on Earth.

I came to dread holidays and birthdays. Tears inevitably found their way down my face.

Prioritizing my relationship with God has been so beneficial. While I’m still working at it, with God’s help, I can gladly say that I’m doing much better now. Recently, I have been trying my hardest to focus on what God says about me.

How we are His creation. He has made each of us for a purpose. He has a purpose for us as long as there is breath in our lungs.

God is such an amazing God. He has blessed immeasurably. It can be hard to fathom how good He is. How he keeps loving us no matter what. He keeps providing for our needs.

He truly is with us in every step we take.

If you may be struggling, no matter what the struggle is, know that you are not alone. God is with you in the unknown. It’s going to be okay. Why? How do I know this?

God. He has already secured the victory. Whatever battle you may be facing, spiritual, mental or physical, God is right there with us. Even when it doesn’t feel like it. He is there.

Unfortunately, the devil does a great job of trying to get our mind off of Christ. The devil knows our weaknesses and whispers them over and over until we believe it.

We never have to believe a word that he says.

Proverbs 3:5

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”

It can be easy to believe the lies, but God doesn’t want us to.

He sent His Son to die on the cross for us. You and me. Sinners.

He was willing to sacrifice His Son for us. What an amazing love He has for us!

He loves us.

No matter how alone you feel, you are never alone. No matter how unloved you feel, you are loved by the One who truly matters!*

He has us in His loving arms. He’s waiting for us to seek His face. Cry out to Him. Rest in Him.

It’s going to be okay.

Recently, a friend directed me to Psalm 31. It has been a balm for my soul.

Here’s a few of my favorite verses from this psalm:

Psalm 31

vs. 1 “In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness.”

vs. 3 “For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name’s sake lead me, and guide me.”

vs. 7  “I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities;”

vs. 10 “: my strength faileth because of mine iniquity,”

vs. 14 “But I trusted in thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my God.”

vs.15 “My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.”

vs. 19 “Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!”

vs. 21  Blessed be the Lord: for he hath shewed me his marvellous kindness in a strong city.”

vs. 23 “: for the Lord preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.”

vs. 24 “Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.”

*If you’re struggling, don’t be afraid to reach out to a close friend so they can pray for you. Prayers move mountains!

*If you’re not struggling, check in with your friends and family. Someone may be struggling that could use your prayers.
