The sun shone gloriously on this beautiful autumn day. The crisp weather signaled a new season is here. Leaves are just starting to turn amazing shades of yellows, reds and oranges.
Apple picking season is here and it flies by too fast, in my opinion.
In New England, visiting an apple orchard to pick your own apples is an autumn tradition.
Going apple picking was one of my favorite field trips growing up. Miss out on schoolwork to pick apples and then enjoy those fresh apples with some fresh pressed apple cider and an apple cider donut? Yes, please!
The trick to picking an apple is to twist and lift the apple upwards lightly. If an apple is pulled or tugged downwards, it will cause other apples to fall and potentially damage the following years crop.
Something that may seem small or insignificant to us has a huge impact on the future of the apple tree.
This simple act can cause such damage. Who knew?
I couldn’t help but be thankful for how we are not like apples in this respect!
Can you imagine if one little thing we did caused our next year to be worse than the previous?
How good is our God?! It can sometimes be unfathomable how no matter how many times we fall, He still loves us. He still guides us and protects us from harm.
Our God is an amazing God.
Thankfully, He doesn’t tally up our mistakes.
He is a jealous God. He wants us to want Him. He wants us to spend time with Him.
We can be thankful for His goodness, but also not let His goodness be an excuse to sin.
Yes, He will forgive us no matter how many times we fail.
But why just make it into Heaven?
Why not look Heavenward? Why not strive to put God first and please Him in all that we do?
The next time we enjoy an apple, let’s be thankful of our good and amazing God.

I did not know this, but interesting to think about! Thanks for the encouragement!
