Eph. 6:11-18
“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”
Have you felt like you’ve been in a battle lately? A spiritual drag out battle with the devil?
I think I might have told you in a previous post that I had felt like I had had an amazing quarantine that was physically and spiritually refreshing.
The past few weeks, though, I have personally felt the devil fighting me so much. He is trying to destroy the closeness I’ve had with God.
Satan is the Father of lies. He is having a hay day right now trying to destroy familes, friendships, our relationship with God and basically everything around us. He is doing his best to eliminate any chance of a spiritual revival.
He is trying to tear so much apart.
Many of us are giving in to him. I’m putting myself at the top of this list. I have let my flesh and emotions be front and center. I let one little thing irratate me and sometimes, I’ve lashed out at my closest friends because of it. Those little things were something I should’ve let roll off my back and not think twice about it, but Satan knew if I dwelt on it and kept on stewing, something not very pretty was going to come out. And that happened.
I let unkind words fly out without thinking. Other random things that were irratating didn’t help my words that flew out to be any kinder.
I’ve let Satan wreak havoc without giving up much of a fight. I feel awful for stating this, but it’s true.
We have always been in a spiritual battle. I feel like the current battle we are in is a make or break for our faith.
We need to be standing strong. Fighting any spiritual battle that comes our way, no matter how small.
We can’t let the devil get in and tear us apart from each other or especially from God.
God is our Hope and Stay during tough times. He is the One we are supposed to be running to when things get crazy.
No matter how Satan has been fighting you, whether it’s random little things or needing to forgive, letting something fester and fester until something is said or done in an unkind way, judging or impure thoughts, the battle can be won with God’s help.
You know how Satan has been fighting you lately. How have you been handling it?
Are you up and ready for the spiritual fight as soon as you wake up or is being prepared for Satan’s tactics an afterthought?
When I think of battles, I can’t help but think with tomorrow being Memorial Day, how selfless the American soldier is. How even more selfess God has always been.
He sent His Son to die on the cross for all of our sins.
When I think of that, I can’t help and be in awe but also ashamed because daily I fail God. I’m not always ready for the spiritual battle that comes my way.
I can be ready if I choose to be prepared by digging in to God’s Word. If before I even walk out the door, I pray to be girded about with the spiritual armor in Ephesians 6 talking through and visualizing each piece being put on.
Because we are human, not every battle will be won, but if we purpose in our heart to lean on God during the battle we will see many more victories to come.
Are you ready for the next battle that will come your way? The battles are never ending this side of Heaven, but with God we will be victorious.
Are you seeking God daily for the strength needed to fight?
We can come out of this whole pandemic stronger. We can only do that by not giving in.
Choosing daily to be girded with armor and ready to fight no matter what comes our way.
Are you ready?
I Peter 5:8
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”

I am noticing more people sharing about spiritual battles lately. This time of quarantine is affecting everyone in unique ways. I am thankful we can put on the full armor of God and be protected against the enemy.
