Do you remember the good ole days of taking tests what seemed like every other day or at least once a week while in school?
I wasn’t a student that LOVED school. I loved history class, lunch and recess…but that’s pretty much it.
If you sat me down and gave me a test a 5th grader would be taking right now, I honestly don’t know if I’d pass depending on the subject. I feel confident in history or geography, but I’m not to sure about the other subjects.
Do you remember the anticipation of waiting to see if you passed the test? Your palms may have turned sweaty. The room suddenly became warmer. Eyes going back and forth to other classmates to see if they were also as nervous as you.
Even when we are finished school, we still have tests throughout life. God tests us. He tests our faith. Are we really trusting fully in Him?
I had an amazing quarantine. I wasn’t cleaning out any closets…maybe I should have been, but the last few days I felt I was growing closer to God and it was amazing.
I had a job opportunity in another state come up. I had such a peace that it truly felt like God’s will, but this past weekend as I asked more questions about what it entailed there was one hiccup I couldn’t ignore. I didn’t feel peace any longer. So, after praying about it, I declined their offer.
While at first I was bummed, my parents were encouraging saying that this could have been a test from God. God may have been testing if I was willing to pick up and move to a city I had never been, like I had done a little over five years ago.
Yes, I was willing. I don’t know if it’s weird to say that I was thankful for the test He gave me. While I may have passed this one, there are so many that I haven’t passed from Him, so I’m definitely not patting myself on the back for this.
I was thankful for the test. When was the last time that happened? Never.
What test has God given you lately? Do you feel like you are passing? Are you struggling to trust Him?
Seek His face. Ask Him for wisdom, direction and strength. He will help you.
Remember that God uses tests and trials to grow our faith. While we may not feel like being thankful during the hard times, He can use you in a way you never imagined because of the tests that are growing you.
Let God mold and grow you to be who He is calling you to be.
“Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and whose hope the Lord is.”
“Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.”
I Peter 4: 12-13
“Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.“
