Attitude is Everything

Have you ever woken up ready to have a great day and little things that shouldn’t rub you the wrong way do and then your begging for the day to be over?

Yeah? That was me yesterday. I was determined to have an amazing day. I made sure to spend time with God in the morning. Slowly, little by little, I let minute things creep in.  The more I let them creep in the worse my attitude became. I wasn’t filled with the joy that I had just written about.

If I let little things affect me in such a way, was I really determined to have a good day? Or had I secretly already made up my mind that it would be a not-so-great day?

The only difference between a good day and a bad day is your attitude. The choice is always yours” ~ Dennis Brown

I had the choice going into the Monday to have a good day, but somewhere along the way I chose the bad day because of my attitude.

I don’t want to go back and redo the day, but I am determined to have a good day today after spending time with God.

When I got to work this morning, I wasn’t feeling too well. I immediately started thinking about how happy I was just about an hour earlier. Thankfully, I do feel better and ready to conquer today with a positive attitude no matter what may come my way.

Prov. 15:15

“All the days of the afflicted are evil: but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.”

Proverbs 17:22

“A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.”

I love when I’m reading my Bible and come upon these verses talking about a merry heart. Just reading them and meditating on them does some soothing to the soul.

When we have merry hearts, we can be shining lights for Jesus. The merry heart is essential for a good day, not only for ourselves but everyone we may come into contact with.

How is your day going so far?

Are you ready and expectant with a merry heart to see all the ways God will bless today?

If your having a hard day, I’m sorry. We have all rough days.  Seek God’s face for strength. Ask Him to help you have a merry heart.

We get to choose how our day goes by the attitude that we choose.

Which attitude are you choosing today?

“Attitude is everything, so pick a good one.” ~ Wayne W.  Dyer
