Not Today Satan

“If I give Satan an inch, he will take a mile.”

Eph. 4:27

“Neither give place to the devil.”

Satan loves it when we fall for his traps. He knows what our weaknesses are and meticulously crafts the ultimate trap for us.

After talking with God this morning, I still knew Satan was trying to trap me into a bad mood for the whole day. I wasn’t going to budge an inch, since I really didn’t want to have a bad day today.

I called out to God for help and told Satan “not today”. He knows where he can go back to.

The past month or so he has distracted me with minute things to keep me from writing or being inspired to write. I haven’t been using my time 100% correctly. I haven’t had an in-depth Bible study lately. I only have myself to blame for those failings, but Satan sure knew what traps to use for me.

He spins his intricate web to lure me and it’s up to me to ignore him.

I can dwell on feeling stuck or uninspired, but unless I decide to do something about it, Satan is winning the battle.

Why let Satan win this battle, when I know he will ultimately lose the battle?

So, the next time Satan tries to weave his way into my thoughts and tries to tempt me, I fully plan on being suited up with spiritual armor and fighting him.

We don’t have to fight alone. God is on our side. With God on our side nothing is impossible.

Eph. 6:11-19

“Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,

Ps. 60:12

“Through God we shall do valiantly; for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.”

Has Satan tried to deceive and work his way into your life? What will you do about it?

Will you stand up to him and say, “Not today Satan”?

The choice is yours.

I choose to fight.

What will you choose?
