Spread the Love

Last night, as I was scrolling through Instagram, I stopped to read a post by one of my fitness role models. She had just launched a new fitness line in time for spring, although in the post she admitted that she was hoping to include certain pieces that ultimately didn’t make the final cut. She felt disappointed that she wasn’t able to deliver what most women were hoping for in this new line.

She spoke honestly about how disappointed she felt. She apologized and asked for honest opinions.

Being an influential fitness women, she has garnered a very large group of followers. I can’t imagine the hateful comments that may come her way. With over one million followers, mean and negative comments are bound to show up sooner or later.

That’s sad isn’t it? Why do people feel like they can say whatever they want? Negative comments are hurtful. End of story.

Ephesians 4:32

“And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.”

Proverbs 31:26

“She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.”

Matthew 5:16

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Jesus wants us to be shining lights for His honor and glory.

One way we can purpose to be a shining light is to show love and kindness to others.

Growing up did your mom or dad ever say to you, “If you can’t say anything nice, then don’t say anything at all.”?

Seems so simple right? And yet, our mouths can get us into so much trouble.

Bullying is real, unfortunately.

We have seen the negative effects of bullying in our society.

Why spread negativity, when we can spread love and kindness?

Love and kindness will have a greater impact.

Why not determine to change the world for the better?

One smile, word typed, or encouraging comment at a time.

Let’s go spread some love today!
