I Know Who Holds Tomorrow

Tomorrow. December 31, 2017. The last day of 2017.

Many people may be scrambling to finish their new year resolutions that they created 364 days ago. Or maybe they finished their resolutions awhile ago and are already making headway on their goals for 2018.

College students are enjoying their Christmas break. Businessmen may be either lounging contentedly in their leather office chair or working frantically to meet the quota for the year.

There’s something about the week in between Christmas and New Year’s.

Maybe it’s just leftover jet lag from everyone traveling…or maybe the week seems to fly by so fast we hardly even know what day it is.

What are we doing with our last days of 2017?

Are we enjoying them? Or are we worried about the new year? Worried about the struggles that may come our way.

Matt. 6:34

“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself.”

God already knows about all of our tomorrows. We have nothing to fear or worry about.

He has His hand on 2018. He knows what trials will come our way. He knows what blessings will come our way.

We can trust and rest in Him because we know who holds tomorrow.

I Know Who Holds Tomorrow

Lyrics by Alison Krauss, The Cox Family
“I don’t know about tomorrow
I just live for day to day
I don’t borrow from the sunshine
For it’s skies may turn to gray
I don’t worry o’er the future
For I know what Jesus said
And today I’ll walk beside Him
For He knows what lies ahead
Many things about tomorrow
I don’t seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand
Ev’ry step is getting brighter
As the golden stairs I climb
Ev’ry burden’s getting lighter
Ev’ry cloud is silver lined
There the sun is always shining
There no tear will dim the eye
At the ending of the rainbow
Where the mountains touch the sky
Many things about tomorrow
I don’t seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand”
*Happy New Year!*
