He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands

So, yesterday was the Great American Eclipse.  Although, you probably already knew that. Were you able to see it from where you were?

As my lunch was coming to an end, I met up with some coworkers outside in anticipation of watching the eclipse. The sun was still shining bright as it usually does. Gradually, the sky darkened and it felt like night. We would occasionally check the progress of the moon from our super cool eclipse glasses.

Slowly, the moon covered the sun. The moment came where we could take off our glasses and look up at the sky. Seeing the full eclipse take form was nothing short of witnessing how amazing God is. He orchestrated that.

Looking at God’s creation can leave us awestruck at the beautiful world that He has created.

He is an amazing God.

Watching the eclipse was yet another reminder that He is in control. He is in control of the sun, moon and stars. He is in control of the 7 billion people and counting.

It can be hard to comprehend why God might be doing (or not doing) something in our lives. It can be hard to trust when we don’t feel that He is near. We might feel like we will never see the light at the end of the tunnel. We may feel forever stuck in a period of trial and testing.

Eccl. 3:1

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:”

Even though it may feel like we are never going to get out of a certain trial, Eccl. 3:1 reminds us that our trial is only for a season. We don’t know how long that season will last, and that is where faith comes in.

Heb. 11:1

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Ps. 46:1

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

Let the God who created the mountains, oceans and galaxies have control of your life. He will help us. He is a very present help being right beside us every step of the way.

Next time you are outside, take a moment to enjoy the beautiful creation surrounding you.

He’s got the whole world in His hands…and that includes you!
